Emily Irene VanCamp was originally interested in becoming a dancer. However, after going to Katie's studio in the Ladies Room, she became more attracted to acting. While taking classes in acting, she also landed guest roles on Canadian TV programs. Some of the shows she had starred in among others were Are You afraid of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp's career took off after being cast in the role of Sam Dolan, a regular in the series WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. Even even though the show received great reviews, it unfortunately had to be cancelled after just nine episodes due to the low ratings. In spite of her May 12th, 1986 birthday her actress was offered a role on Everwood on its set as Amy Abbott. In this role, she was the one that she won nominations from the Young Artist Award, and also the four Teen Choice Awards.
